free prostate cancer screenings at the "great mn get-together!

                             August 29th-September 2nd
The Institute for Prostate and Urologic Cancers (U of M) is partnering with Zero-The Project to End Prostate Cancer, to offer a FREE prostate cancer screening to men to help drive awareness.
The "Drive Bus" will be parked next to the U of M Building on the Fairgrounds, where all men are welcomed to get screened-whether they have insurance or not.
*There are NO out of pocket fees to participate.
The screening will include a PSA blood test (Prostate Specific Antigen Test) and DRE (Digital Rectal Exam).   Participants will be notified of exam results a few weeks after screening date.
This is an incredible opportunity for all men to take advantage of, which requires a small amount of time spent, to potentially SAVE LIVES!

I hope to see you there!

American cancer society- 2011 relay for life

Please "click" on the logo above to help support me and my Relay For Life Team!  I am so excited for this year's event, as our kids will be participating, as well as my parents, sisters and their families.
We will walk all night, in honor of our loved ones lost and those who continue the brave fight against Cancer.
We look forward to help celebrate with those who have beaten this disease, with hopes of someday-knowing what that feels like!

There are Relay For Life events all around the state of MN.
There's bound to be one near you-so join in!

Thank you for your support!

The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge®-Minneapolis

My son, Drake and I were invited to have a tour of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge®this week.
There, we were able to experience the amazing facility which is offered to cancer patients undergoing life-saving treatments at NO CHARGE!

Over 23,000 people across Minnesota are diagnosed with cancer each year. Many of these patients often spend weeks or months away from home while undergoing required lifesaving treatment at cancer centers in the Twin Cities area.
In December 2007, The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® opened its doors and became the 25th Hope Lodge and the 2nd Hope Lodge in Minnesota.

The construction of the Hope lodge has been a community effort with a $5 million challenge grant donation from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, which was matched with another $5 million from individual donations. The land was provided by the University of Minnesota through the Minnesota Medical Foundation and the University’s Cancer Center.

men's health week 2011

This week is National Men's Health Week, which was created by Congress in 1994 to raise the awareness of the health threats uniquely facing men.
Ladies, make some time this week to talk to the special men in your life about Prostate Cancer. Encourage yearly physicals, including a Prostate Cancer Screening for those 45 and older.
WE really can make a difference to those we love!

To my wonderful dad who's influenced many aspirations of mine, and terrific husband, Willie-the greatest Blessing (along with Drake & Jas, of course!)I've received from God , I am truly a blessed woman indeed-
I love you!
