The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge®-Minneapolis

My son, Drake and I were invited to have a tour of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge®this week.
There, we were able to experience the amazing facility which is offered to cancer patients undergoing life-saving treatments at NO CHARGE!

Over 23,000 people across Minnesota are diagnosed with cancer each year. Many of these patients often spend weeks or months away from home while undergoing required lifesaving treatment at cancer centers in the Twin Cities area.
In December 2007, The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® opened its doors and became the 25th Hope Lodge and the 2nd Hope Lodge in Minnesota.

The construction of the Hope lodge has been a community effort with a $5 million challenge grant donation from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, which was matched with another $5 million from individual donations. The land was provided by the University of Minnesota through the Minnesota Medical Foundation and the University’s Cancer Center.
