About Me

I am blessed to be a wife to THE most amazing man-Willie, a mom to Drake and Jasmine-our beautiful, kind and fun kids, while enjoying a fulfilling career as a magazine editor.
I hold a fourth-degree black belt in karate, love to play tennis and family bike rides-MN weather permitting, of course!
Baking is a passion of mine, and I always get plenty of help from the kids, while Willie waits patiently for the delicious "finished products"!

On the weekends, I can be found on the sidelines of our son's basketball and soccer games, cheering on our daughter while at dance classes and competitions.

Unfortunately, my family has a long history of, and knows cancer very well.
Since 2000, there have been 12 cancer diagnoses within our immediate family.  Today, only 2 of those 12 people diagnosed are still alive and continuing to fight - though neither are cancer-free.
I have committed the last 16 years of my life to state and national advocacy, educating men and women about the prevalence of cancer, and encouraging timely detection through living a healthy lifestyle & yearly cancer screenings.

I am the proud founder of the Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition.

I hold numerous positions with the American Cancer Society on a local, state, regional and national level.

I serve as an Executive Board Member for the American Cancer Society Minnesota State Leadership Board.
In this exciting role, I have the incredible opportunity to work with ACS staff linking the organization's policies, initiatives, and programs to  volunteers and advocates across the state.  Our work is vital to the ACS Mission.
I am grateful for the opportunity to travel across the state representing the ACS, educating about resources for patients and their families, and advocating among our elected officials to support life saving legislation.
As a Volunteer Engagement Lead, I am part of a small team of individuals across the country who are working to improve the overall volunteer experience for American Cancer Society Relay For Life events across the United States.

As an ACS CAN ACT! Ambassador, I talk to and work with our state elected officials to support important legislation and take steps to decrease the number of people suffering and dying from cancer.
